Drop-In Volunteer Nights

Joining us at our Drop-In Volunteer Nights is an easy and fun way to help out the Community Cycling Center. As a group, we work on a variety of projects benefiting the organization, from cleaning, repairing and recycling bikes to transporting and organizing bikes and supplies. All volunteers are welcome. No skills are necessary. We’ll find a volunteer project that will fit your skills and interests.

Getting Started

Before you become a regular Drop-In Night Volunteer, we ask that you attend one of our Volunteer Orientations. This is your chance to learn more about the Community Cycling Center and our Volunteer Program. We introduce you to the shop and the tools and then lead you through some fun, hands-on activities.

Volunteer Orientations are held on the first Tuesday of every month from 7:00-9:30 PM at our bike shop. No reservation required. Volunteers 14 and older can come help without parental supervision. If you are under 18 years old, please download our Volunteer Program Waiver and have a parent or guardian sign it before you come.

The next Volunteer Orientation is on Tuesday, September 2nd.

Volunteer Night Guidelines

While volunteering at the Community Cycling Center, we request that you follow these simple guidelines:

  • At the Community Cycling Center, it’s safety first!
  • Wear closed-toe shoes. Open-toe shoes are a concern in our light-industrial work environment.
  • Wear clothes that you don’t mind getting dirty and also wear clothes that are appropriate for the weather in case you are working outside!
  • The CCC is a drug, weapon and alcohol-free environment.
  • The CCC fosters an environment of respect and support where abusive or degrading comments and behavior are not allowed.
  • The CCC is committed to reducing, reusing and recycling. Please involve yourself in this effort while you are here.
  • When helping work on bikes, all tools should be kept clean and returned to their proper place at the end of your session. The work area should be left clean after use.
