Our Teaching/Learning Philosophy

The Community Cycling Center’s mission is to broaden access to bicycling and all its benefits. This includes access to the outdoors, environmental stewardship, and enhanced livability. We believe hands-on learning allows children to gain skills, knowledge and confidence, and the interpersonal skills of decision-making and problem-solving that prepare them to be healthy, active, and engaged citizens. Our instructor to camper ratio is 1:6 for all camps. We emphasize cooperative learning in a team environment. If your child has specific goals, please contact us in order to ensure that they are in the best camp.

Behavior Management

Given that campers ride on the road with other vehicles, we have high expectations regarding safety. If a camper is not choosing to listen to directions and work with the expectations set at the beginning of the week, we will ask them to stay home for one day. This allows instructors to focus on the other campers who are choosing to participate in a safe and positive way. Group safety and quality camp experiences are taken seriously at the Community Cycling Center.
