$15,000 Raised at Cycle Oregon
Last weekend, hundreds of cyclists finished up the sometimes grueling, always gorgeous 481-mile Cycle Oregon route, and the Community Cycling Center was there all week detailing bikes and charging cell phones. In the end, twelve volunteers and three staff members detailed 228 bikes, charged hundreds of cell phones, and raised $15,000 for the Community Cycling Center’s Holiday Bike Drive!
Our favorite parts? Cleaning sweet bikes, making riders happy, meeting people who believe in our mission, and working together.
A big thanks to the enthusiastic and tireless work of our wonderful volunteers: John and Ben Beaston, Meghan Keener and Nissy Cobb, Mark Kuhn and Consuela Del Moral, Rechelle Parent and Rob Wold, Gram Shipley, Miles Craig, David Cox, and board chair Margaret Weddell. You all did a fantastic job!
A number of companies also pitched in to make our week a success including Flexcar, Penske, Event Management, Inc., and River City Bicycles.
And finally, thanks again to everyone who purchased our services or donated while on the ride. We couldn’t have done it without you. See you next year!
