Hottest Day of the Year Ride a Great Success
Hundreds of Portland cyclists of all stripes rode in the third annual Hottest Day of the Year Ride last Sunday, August 3rd.
Riders came alone, in pairs, and with their whole families to take on the 15- and 40-mile courses, stopping at two themed rest stops to compete in a watermelon eating contest at the Community Cycling Center and to splash on the slip’n’slide at the University of Portland campus. The weather finally warmed up in time for riders to enjoy the sundae bar at the finish line.
Events like this one provide a great opportunity for cyclists to take a leisurely ride with their friends and family and take the guesswork out of route planning. We are providing more opportunities to get you and your loved ones out on bicycles with our free family fun rides this summer! Our next ride is scheduled on Sunday, August 24th; register today to reserve your spots!
