Donate your bike and make it a vehicle for change!
This year the Community Cycling Center needs to collect 4,000 bicycles, including 1,200 adult bikes and 2,800 children’s bikes to meet the needs of people in their programs. The specific types of bicycles that the Community Cycling Center is seeking include:
• Adult road bikes in good condition with steel or aluminum frames
• Children’s bikes ranging from single speed coaster-brake styles to geared bikes with hand brakes
The Community Cycling Center depends on donations of good quality bicycles. Bicycle donations are always accepted at the Community Cycling Center’s bike shop Tuesday – Sunday from 10am – 7pm. A $5 processing donation is appreciated.
Community bike collections have been conveniently scheduled around the Portland Metro area. A partial list of collections includes:
• Whole Foods NE 15th and Fremont, Friday April 18th 4pm – 7pm
• Hinson Church SE Salmon St. and 20th Ave, Saturday, April 19th 10am – 3pm
• Earth Day at all REI locations (Clackamas, Downtown, Hillsboro, Tualatin), Saturday, April 26th 10am – 3pm
• Sunset Presbyterian Church 14986 NW Cornell Rd, Saturday, June 7th 8am – 1pm
When you donate a bike, our professional mechanics refurbish it and direct it to bike safety programs for low-income youth and adults or to the bike shop. Bike shop proceeds benefit programs.
All donations are tax-deductible to the extent of the law.
