The New Columbia Bike Repair Hub will provide affordable repairs, free advice, and will act as a hub for all sorts of cycling activities.
For the past three years we have been collaborating with New Columbia residents, Home Forward and other partners to overcome barriers to bicycling at New Columbia. The local bike committee, We All Can Ride, identified affordable bicycle repair as the biggest barrier to bicycling in their neighborhood. Along with Home Forward, Village Gardens, and other partners, we will build the Bicycle Repair Hub this month!
Between August 20th – 31st, graduate students from Oregon College of Art & Craft and Pacific Northwest College of Art’s joint MFA program will design and build this facility following a series of community meetings.
Come tour the new Hub and celebrate with all of us at New Columbia. We hope to see you there!
If you can’t make it to the celebration, please consider making a gift to support this project – the Bike Gallery will match the first $5,000 in donations made before September 5th.
