Thank you for joining us at the Alberta Street Fair
This past Saturday brought us a lovely day at the Alberta Street Fair. We always like the opportunity to hang out and connect with our shop neighbors. Although the day was a bit cloudy, the temperature was quite comfortable, and many people hung out to have conversations and watch repairs happening.
Three awesome, skilled volunteers performed 21 quick-fix repairs for folks in the community at no cost. The repairs ranged from flat fixes to disc brake adjustments to overhauling a bottom bracket on an old cruiser. We even put new tires on a bike owned by a woman who appeared in one of our first I Ride portraits! We love offering quick fixes and making sure that our neighbors are able to have functional bikes at a price they can afford.
Another one of our fabulous volunteers put together a benefit bake sale. Folks stopped by and ate dozens and dozens of homemade cookies. All of those treats meant that we were able to raise over $350 to support our youth and adult programs. We’d like to extend a big thank you to all the volunteers that helped make it such a delicious success.
It’s always nice to be able to get out of the shop and into the street, giving us an opportunity to connect with our Alberta street neighbors. Thank you to everyone that made the afternoon so delightful!
