You Are Welcome Here
By Mychal Tetteh
You are not alone. We’re here, with and for you.
At the Community Cycling Center, we believe that everyone should have the opportunity to experience the joy, freedom and health benefits of bicycling. This hopeful, open and abundant approach to our mission stands in stark contrast to the divisiveness we have recently witnessed in this country.
We know that a thriving community is defined by whom it includes. You are part of our community. We are grateful for you and we support you.
We strive to be a place where people from all walks of life can find comfort and get connected to bicycling in the most empowering way possible.
In the days and weeks ahead, the Community Cycling Center will be grappling with the impact of the recent election cycle and what it means for:
- High school graduation rates
- Affordable housing
- Immigration rights
- Rights for women and girls
- Food insecurity for families living on low incomes
- LGBTQ rights
- Climate change action
Many of us are still processing the results of our most recent election cycle. One thing is clear to me: we must work together in unprecedented ways in order to hasten the demise of racism, hatred, fear and scarcity in our society. Three hundred sixty-five days a year, the Community Cycling Center works to be a beacon of justice and hope, on the path to a bright future for all. Together, we will leverage the bicycle as a tool of empowerment and a vehicle for social change.
Let us hold each other up. Let us move forward. You are what helps make this future bright.
