Create a legacy with the Community Cycling Center
Did you know that you can make a gift to the Community Cycling Center as part of your estate plan? It’s true. You may include a cash or stock donation of any size in your will and you can also make sure that your favorite steed keeps rolling up those hills by donating your bike.
One planned giver who has included both a financial gift as well as a number of bicycles in his will, notes that including the Community Cycling Center in his estate plan was “very simple.” He noted, “I simply added the Community Cycling Center as a beneficiary of a percentage of my IRA. That provides good tax benefits to my family, good emotional benefits to me, and needed dollars to the organization. We all win!”
Planned gifts benefit our innovation fund. Twenty percent of our work is innovation – how do we best respond to our partners’ needs? How can we best empower community members? How can we keep our programs relevant in a constantly changing Portland? Your planned gift will allow us to focus on emerging opportunities and community needs while maintaining a strong financial foundation.
For example, our conversations with partner organizations in 2008 during the first phase of the Understanding Barriers to Bicycling Project led to a pilot program to get more kids on bikes in the summer of 2009. We were able to respond to community need nimbly thanks to our strong base of generous supporters.
You too can give the gift of freedom, empowerment and joy by making a legacy gift to the Community Cycling Center. To learn more, give Breesa a call at 503-288-8864.
