Help BUILD MOMENTUM during our spring fundraising campaign
By Breesa Culver, Development Manager
We are building a more inclusive bicycle economy + culture in Portland. Will you join us?
For the past twelve months, we’ve been hard at work creating an updated strategic plan. Working with board members, strategic partners, and every single staff member, we are proud to have created a robust and inspiring road map for the next three years. The new plan lays out our strategy to create a more inclusive bicycle economy in Portland.
How?
We will collaborate with low-income communities and communities of color to empower more people to ride together, to create more employment opportunities in the bicycle industry, to train emerging bike champions, and to make Portland’s bicycle network more accessible.
This work has already begun!
We are currently working with partner organizations like New Columbia and Hacienda CDC to create real, lasting community change based on the priorities identified by residents.
- This summer, we are collaborating with New Columbia staff and residents to build a community bicycle repair space and skills park .
- We are working with Andando en Bicicletas en Cully (ABC) at Hacienda to build much-needed bicycle storage.
- We are training Community Bike Educators at Hacienda to lead repair workshops.
- We are creating a workforce development program that will give underserved youth the opportunity to learn bicycle repair and safety education at our bike shop and in our programs.
All of this program development and execution requires some pretty serious resources. That’s where you come in.
Twice a year, we ask our friends, supporters, and neighbors to pitch in to help us fund our ongoing work. Our goal during the 2012 Spring Campaign is to raise $10,000. Please dig deep and make a donation today! We’re already a little over halfway there.
If you believe in the power of bicycles to transform lives and communities, please support the Community Cycling Center during this critical time.
