Top three fun and delicious ways to support us this summer!
By Lillian Karabaic, Development Manager
We love local businesses at the Community Cycling Center, and in August and September, three great local businesses are loving us back. And it’s going to be delicious. So if you like cupcakes, wine, or beer, here are three great businesses that make supporting the work of the Community Cycling Center easy and tasty:
1. All month of August, a percentage of sales from Cupcake Jones will be donated to the Community Cycling Center. This means you can enjoy delicious Mocha Almond Fudge cupcakes guilt-free, because all that sugar is helping broaden access to bicycling. Protip: use this extra special “cupcake hack” for cleaner eating.
2. Pairings PDX, Portland’s weirdest little wine shop, will pair wine to anything – even your bike! Just describe what you love about your bike, and Pairings will find the wine to complement it (or if you’re more traditional, you can bring in food.) Every Friday this month, 5% of sales will support the Community Cycling Center. You can also stop anytime and pick up a “mystery bag” of wine – for $20, you have a 1 in 5 chance of getting a $50 bottle of wine. If only you had this to carry it home:
Join Community Cycling Center staff and board on Friday, August 28th to try out different wines paired to bikes, from 5:30-8PM.
3. In September, all beer pints at Hopworks BikeBar benefit the Community Cycling Center. Hopworks BikeBar is located right on the most popular bike route in the city, so stop in, have a locally crafted pint, and enjoy the frothy taste of delicious philanthropy. You can even pedal their stationary bike to charge your phone while you enjoy a pint!
Thanks to these great local businesses for supporting our work, and I look forward to seeing our friends while I’m packing myself full of cupcakes, wine, and microbrews.
