Bike Shop Expansion Campaign: We’re almost there!
As you have probably noticed, we are so excited to finally expand and refurbish our neighborhood bike shop. Over the past weeks, we’ve told you about the plan and showed you part of the execution here on our website.
We’ve refurbished and expanded our bike shop, knocking out a wall, and adding more space for products and additional staff. Now we’re working on the new space at 1714, building work benches, moving in new bike stands, and creating wheel truing stands so that we can build even more bikes for our community programs.
All of this work is made possible by our incredible supporters and volunteers. It will cost $35,000, all told, to build out our workshop at 1714 NE Alberta and make necessary improvements to our shop at 1700 NE Alberta.
The PGE Foundation generously awarded us a $5,000 lead grant and, since mid-February, we have been working on raising the remaining funds from a small group of committed individuals and businesses who recognize the great value that the Community Cycling Center brings to Portland.
As of today, we’ve raised $15,500 $27,630 in gifts and pledges from 13 22 generous donors. We’re only three days and $2,370 away from reaching our fundraising goal.
If we meet our fundraising goal for this campaign, we will be on course to finish building out the new space by the end of April. We are incredibly grateful to everyone who has come together to support us during this exciting time.
