Hot off the press: 2012 schedule of Bike Maintenance classes
In the Dec 8th issue of the Portland Mercury, Sarah Mirk put our Bike Maintenance Classes on her Holiday Wish List. She took Basic Bicycle Maintenance Class for Women last year and loved it. Her review: “It was a thrill to get my hands dirty figuring out how my brakes, chain, and wheels actually work. But there are more classes and more to learn! The chance to spend another winter in the company of the CCC’s awesome, patient teachers and full gamut of bike tools? Be still my heart.”
On that note, we are excited to share our maintenance class lineup for the next three months. We are offering Basic Bicycle Maintenance for Women and Derailers and Drivetrain.
If you’d like to learn your bike skills in an all-women environment, you’ll love Basic Bicycle Maintenance for Women. Absolutely no experience necessary. You will have fun learning flat tire repair, bike cleaning and lubrication, shifting, gear and brake adjustments and general problem solving over 5 Monday nights from March 5th to April 2nd. Register now!
If you’re already experienced with repairing a flat tire and replacing brake pads and the like, but are looking to expand your skill set, we offer an intermediate maintenance class, Derailers and Drivetrain, which teaches you the skills you need to be able to make routine maintenance repairs on your bicycle like chain replacement, gear cluster removal, front and rear derailer adjustments, basic wheel truing and complete brake adjustments. Derailers and Drivetrain is offered Thursdays from April 26th through May 24th. Register now!
We hope to see you at one of our upcoming maintenance classes!
